 Attilio Mazzini, profondo conoscitore della storia del costume dai primi del Novecento ad oggi, è tra i massimi archivisti e catalogatori di abbigliamento vintage a livello europeo. Situato a Massa Lombarda (RA), il suo ricchissimo archivio è costituito da oltre 220.000 capi storici, ed è luogo di ricerca frequentato dai nomi più altisonanti del mondo della moda che prendono in affitto per un periodo circoscritto i capi di loro interesse per svolgere i temi delle loro nuove collezioni. Le nuove idee nascono dalla rivisitazione del passato. |
 Attilio Mazzini, an expert connoisseur of the history of costume from the beginning of the 19th century till now, is also one of the most expert achivists and cataloguers of vintage clothes in Europe. His rich archive, situated in Massa Lombarda (RA) is made up of more than 220.000 historical pieces. It is a place where famous fashion designers go to research and get the inspiration to create their new collections. They rent the place for a period of time because they believe that new ideas are born by re-visiting the past. |

| La passione per il vintage nasce in seno alla famiglia allorquando nei primi anni ‘50 a ridosso della Seconda Guerra Mondiale, i genitori commerciano abbigliamento militare usato. Negli anni ‘60 inizia a raccogliere capi vintage ritenuti interessanti , accantonandoli senza una precisa finalità, attratto da colori , forme e design particolari. Negli anni ‘70 prende forma il lavoro di archivista che si effettua attraverso la catalogazione di capi degli anni precedenti a seconda della tipologia di indumento,del periodo storico, ma soprattutto dello stilista ideatore dello stesso. |
This passion for vintage starts when the family back in the early ‘50s after the Second World War, dealt in used military clothing. In the ‘60s he started to collect vintage clothes for no special reason. He was attracted by their colours, form and design. In the ‘70s he started his work as an archivist, where he classified the clothes according to their use, their historical period and also their designer. |

Gli anni ‘80 sono l’epoca d’oro per il mondo della moda,da cui scaturiranno eccellenze creative tra i designer tali da modificare radicalmente il modo di vestire. Conservare tutte le creazioni di questo periodo presente e non più solo del passato si rende inevitabile e segna una svolta decisiva nel lavoro di archivista.

The ‘80s were the golden years for fashion. They saw the birth of excellent designers and creators who have changed our way of wearing clothes. To conserve all the creations of this period and not only historical ones thus became inevitable and marked an important change in the work of the archivist.

Nel 2004 ha sviluppato uno speciale trattamento per tessuti effettuato su duecento Levis vintage Limited Edition per la Fashion House di Yohji Yamamoto con cui collaborava da diverse stagioni e vendendo gli stessi con enorme successo all’interno della omonima boutique di Tokyo. Nella foto uno dei jeans autografati dal geniale stilista quale plauso al lavoro svolto dal Laboratorio Mazzini. |
In 2004 he invented a special treatment for textiles which was used on 200 Levis Vintage Limited Edition for the Fashion House of Yohji Yamamoto. He had already collaborated for several seasons, selling these Levis, obtaining a huge success at the same Fashion House. In the photo there is one of these jeans autographed by the genial designer donated to the Laboratorio Mazzini as a sign of appreciation for their work in Tokyo. |

Le sfilate di moda delle ultime stagioni evidenziano un nuovo sapore nel modo di vestire. Vengono rielaborati capi e concetti molto cari al mondo dello sport e del fitness, in una chiave più ricercata ed innovativa restituendo loro un look più chic ed elegante. Attilio Mazzini, a tal riguardo, ci conferma che le ricerche a lui commissionate dalle grandi aziende di moda fanno particolare attenzione al mondo dello sport in continua e perenne evoluzione. |

All’interno dell’attuale archivio si annoverano innumerevoli capi sportivi e visitando questo luogo ci si sente per pochi attimi un privilegiato viaggiatore nel tempo. In un prossimo futuro il sogno di Attilio Mazzini è la realizzazione di un archivio distribuito in un area di circa 33.000 metri quadrati nella zona di Massa Lombarda a poca distanza dagli aeroporti di Bologna e Forlì. |
